Philly ❤️ Bowie
David Bowie was born in the second week of January, and so that’s the week Philadelphia celebrates as Philly Loves Bowie Week—a vibrant celebration filled with music, performance art, and community gatherings across the city.
Bowie had a deep connection with Philadelphia, performing and recording here throughout his legendary career. His iconic American breakthrough album, Young Americans, was initially recorded at Sigma Sound Studios on 12th Street in 1974, cementing his bond with the city.
To honor Philly Loves Bowie Week, we’re excited to introduce two exclusive Bowie-inspired designs. These shirts feature bold lightning bolt and star graphics—symbols beloved by Bowie fans—overlaid on a field of randomly generated binary numbers. We think Bowie would have appreciated this fusion of art and technology. In a 1999 interview, he spoke passionately about the transformative power of the internet and technology, embracing innovation as part of his creative journey.
Pay close attention to the final line of binary code—there's a hidden easter egg waiting for you :-)
But hey, why stop in January? We’re going to celebrate his creativity and fearless spirit all year long. Join us, won’t you?
